Every brick color, drawn from Taiwan

BrickNet's palette isn't random. We've hand-selected 40+ ABS brick colors, each tied to a piece of Taiwan's culture, nature, or cuisine. Together they bring an island's worth of visual memory into your living room.

Upload your photo and our color engine picks the closest match across these 40+ colors for every pixel of the image.

Why 40+ colors?

Most competing products use only 6 to 8 basic colors. Sounds like enough — until you build it and skin tones turn green, sunsets turn purple, fur loses its definition.

After studying thousands of portrait, pet, and landscape photos, we found: faithfully rendering an ordinary everyday photo requires at least 30 colors. Capturing the subtle gradients of pet fur, sunset light, or human skin tones takes 40 or more to make the image come alive.

So we built a 40+ color palette and a color engine that finds the best combination for every single photo.

Five color families

Warm tones — sunset, red brick, temple vermilion

Drawn from Taiwan's red-brick courtyards, the vermilion beams of village temples, and the red glow of sunset on the water. This family is best for:

Cool tones — Pacific blue, ink-stone gray, summer-night blue

Inspired by the deep blue of Taiwan's east coast, the gray of a literati ink stone, and summer-night skies. Best for:

Neutrals — sand, off-white, natural wood

Neutrals are the backbone of portraiture. We layered our grays, whites, and beiges into multiple steps — from soft white to deep gray — echoing Taiwan's sandy coastlines, Hakka cotton-print backgrounds, and natural-wood textures. Best for:

Nature tones — mountains, tea fields, rice waves

Distilled from the cedar green of Alishan, the leaf green of Pinglin tea plantations, and the golden waves of Chianan paddy fields. This family is the core of landscape work. Best for:

Food tones — pineapple cake, mango, matcha

Taiwan's food culture is a visual high-saturation art form on its own — pineapple cake gold, mango-ice orange, matcha-cake green. We turned those into brick colors so your food photos, holiday meals, and dessert moments can be rendered with full fidelity.

Precision color matching — the real magic of turning photos into bricks

Many people think "photo to bricks" is just pixelating an image. The hard part is color decision-making:

For every pixel, our AI must judge:

Then it picks the closest match from our 40+ brick colors. Finally it integrates all those thousands of micro-decisions into one cohesive image with depth, gradation, and light.

This is the algorithm BrickNet has refined over years of development. It's the reason we can claim color fidelity far beyond the industry standard.

FAQ

Why 40+ colors, not 100 or 1,000?

More colors don't equal better art. The brick medium has physical limits — every new color needs its own mold, dye batch, and quality control. The 40+ colors we curate are the proven sweet spot: enough to render 99% of human portrait, pet, and landscape scenarios while keeping the sorted kit buildable for a regular customer.

Can I pick specific colors myself?

Color matching is AI-driven, which is exactly why we delegate it to the algorithm — it can try tens of thousands of combinations in milliseconds and find the most faithful match for your image. If you have a specific creative request, message us on LINE before ordering and we'll see what's possible.

Will dark or low-light photos work?

Yes. The AI automatically detects light levels and contrast and pulls more detail from the shadows. Extremely dark or out-of-focus images are best discussed via LINE customer service before placing the order.
